Hello!!!!!
Well, contextualized language is the action to take the students into real situations according the topics of the curriculum. I mean, the teacher has a topic, and she/he wants to involve the students the most possible, and the way is to learn with the practice.
This is very important. The student takes not only theory that at the end it is left on the notebook but also gets knowledge of the real situation lived in the classroom. It is not the same to tell a student "Imagine you are tasting an ice cream" that "Taste your ice cream." So, contextualized language has the function to teach the student with real stuations of the real life from the lower to the highest level.
In this stage the attitud of the teacher has to be dynamic in order to get the students awke and interested on the topic. It has to be patient because the students won't learn at the first time, but at the same time it has to show authority to gain the students respect.
The students independence is nice because they can know they are part of the situation so that they have to play a good rol.
In El Salvador contextualized language could work nice because students can be involve in real situations, and they can notice the good things and at the same time the bad things that can be changed in or society.
The students can respond as well as the others students because all of us have capacities that can be develop.
Our EFL can work with it. Right now someone can say "No of cours not, it couldn't work!" But our teachers have the enough charisma to make work this interesting way to learn.
As you imply, practice makes the master, which should be our goal when teaching students and looking forward for them to learn a topic, and I liked when you mention real situations, as it's easier to connect to the contents when making use of our senses, interacting.
ResponderEliminarwow it is awesome to see that in this strategy the teacher has to take students involved in real situations in order to have a meaninful topic or anything the teacher will develop in the classroom. Interacting in one of the parts in which the studets can understan better the language cuz they are involved in it.

ResponderEliminaryou are tremendously positive towards applying contextualized language in your classes. YOu see this the attitude all teachers display.
Definitly, I agree with the idea that involving students into real situations helps a lot when learning. As you said before I would work nicely in our country. We as teachers should apply it in our classes.
